* Surface Pro 7: Up to 10.5 hours of battery life with typical Surface device usage. The test was carried out by Microsoft in September 2019 with preproduction software and a preproduction device with Intel® Core i5, 256 GB and 8 GB RAM. The test consisted of a complete battery discharge with a mixture of active use and modern standby. The active usage part consists of (1) a web browser test that accesses 8 popular websites through several open tabs, (2) a productivity test using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, and (3) part of the time with the device in Use with inactive applications. All settings were standard, except that the screen brightness was set to 150 nits with auto-brightness off. WLAN has been connected to a network. Battery life depends heavily on settings, usage, and other factors.
